I am highly interested for the position of the Personal Care Assistant in your hospital. I have kindly attached my curriculum vitae along the cover letter indicating and giving information about my gained skills and knowledge while working and experiencing in the healthcare industry. My workplace experiences have assisted me in achieving improved understanding of the personal assistant and nursing roles applied in separate environments. I have been able to attain efficiency in having effective dealing with my patients as well as colleagues belonging to different cultural and professional backgrounds. This qualifies me for the presented job opportunity.

I have been into the healthcare setting from around ….years. Thus, I have good knowledge of legal and ethical requirements. I follow the ethical behaviours and actions of healthcare professionals to work with respect and compassion for inheriting worth, dignity, and unique individual attributes. My primary commitment is to care and support patient and their family members and community as a whole and to work as an advocate for their utmost benefits. During one of my clinical events, I witnessed a senior nurse being rude and unsupportive to an aboriginal old patient because of communication barriers and I immediately involved and reminded my senior of her professional duties and ethics in a calm manner. I was literally abused verbally by the senior nurse, but I took the courage to report this to nurse manager and I was appreciated for my step and the senior nurse was interrogated for this and was suspended for her behaviour. I am accountable, responsible and authoritative for my practice and is obliged to promote patient health. Negligence and malpractice are legally and ethically unacceptable in healthcare profession. Insufficient monitoring, failure to assess, failure to communicate, and failure in following protocols can end-up causing unethical and illegal outcomes. I adhere to ethical principles of beneficence and non-maleficence during my caring procedures and take patient’s or the immediate caregiver’s consent in written form prior conducting assessment or caring process notified by the seniors. I ensure that I respect patient’s privacy in all situations and keep patient data confidential.
